Experience Thrilling Adventures While at Rick’s Café in Jamaica

Rick’s Café can be found at the top of a thirty-five-foot cliff on the west side of Jamaica, and while the food is delicious, many people visit for another reason.  Those who arrive long before it is time for the sun to set in the sky will be there to take their chances at cliff diving, while those who arrive later want to see the spectacular colors of the setting sun.

There is no right or wrong way for anyone visiting Jamaica to experience Rick’s Café, but the majority of people seem to do the same things when they get there.  First, everyone will place their food order, as it obviously takes time for the food to be prepared.  Now, this may sound counterintuitive, especially since most of those people will be jumping from a massive cliff as they wait, but it works well!

Some people will keep their meal light with options that include chicken wings, jerked chicken kebabs, or a tropical fruit salad.  However, most people will order the largest and most filling meal that they can since when they eat it, it means that they survived their freefall!  Those favorite filling meals include the Caribbean lobster linguini, island jerked chicken, and Rick’s world-famous surf and turf. Of course, no one can leave before having a taste of either the traditional Jamaican rum cake or the sweet potato pudding.

Before climbing to the top of the massive cliff, most people will have a drink.  There are so many to choose from at Rick’s Café, but the all-time favorites include the daydream martini, Jamaican me crazy, and Rick’s cliffside cooler.  These drinks seem to give everyone the liquid courage that they need to make the jump of a lifetime!

A few people will start their diving adventure at one of the lower cliffs, which is approximately eight feet above the water, and then work their way up to the forty-foot cliff. However, there are many people who will choose to just tackle the highest cliff possible and then brag about it for the rest of their life.

There is one diving area that is high up in the trees above the cliffs, but tourists are encouraged to not dive from there.  Those areas are best left for the professionals, as they do those dives daily. Most visitors will do their dive and then eat as they watch the professionals take the plunge.

Past visitors have spent hours at Rick’s Café, as the ambiance is so phenomenal that no one wants to leave.  This is especially true at the end of the day, as the sun is beginning to set in the sky. A live band begins playing at that time, the seats at the bar are all taken, and cameras are poised to capture that perfect shot.

Everyone will love spending a day at Rick’s Café in Jamaica, whether they are diving, watching divers, eating delectable cuisine, or watching the magnificent sunset at the end of a long day.
