Sedona is one of those places you simply have to see to believe. True, the images you can come across online do it justice, but you do still have to visit.

It’s home to plenty of quaint retreats and spas that can provide the perfect relaxation ritual if you’re looking to de-stress. If you’re into a walk, all of Sedona’s downtown is explorable on foot, and this is, in fact, the best way to do it. You will be surprised to see every corner has something new and fresh to offer.

You should also make it a point to visit Gallery Row if you’re looking for a culturally immersive afternoon, and a night out on Baldwin Trailhead is a must. You have never seen that many stars in your life, we can promise you that much.

If you want to move outdoors, one of the hundreds of hiking trails in the area will leave you tired and feeling great in your skin. Make sure to head over to the Red Rock State Park to experience some amazing scenery in crimson.

If you would like to spend a day on the water, there are the banks of Oak Creek. Or you can head upriver to the Verde River, where you can take on the waters in a boat or another means of transport.

Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA

A city of neighborhoods, Cambridge is one of those places you can spend weeks on end in, and still not get to experience everything it has to offer.

Harvard Square is probably the favorite haunt of bookworms and the perfect place to spend a reflective afternoon, while Central Square is an ideal place for foodies. Inman Square is the place to go thrift shopping and try out new beers, while East Cambridge is your space for exploration.

The city is very obviously a city made for students, with its vibrant nightlife and colorful restaurants. There are also plenty of music and comedy performances, and the entire place simply exudes youth at every step. Of course, there are the many museums you can stroll through, the incredible parks, and spaces you can read in and enjoy people-watching with a good cup of coffee.

If you want to head out on the water, you can take a boat tour and explore the city from the river, or you can take on the Charles River bike batch and cycle around the entire city.

If you miss your own Alma Mater, or would simply like to feel like a Harvard student for a weekend, Cambridge is the perfect spot for you.

The Black Canyon is located on the Colorado River, right between Nevada and Arizona. It was formed 15 million years ago, and gets its name from the black volcanic rock that can be found in the area.

If you’re a nature lover, and would also like to visit both Nevada and Arizona, the Black Canyon should certainly be on your list. It takes 45 minutes to get to it from the Strip. There you can choose to explore the Water Trail, which is 12 miles long, home to plenty of hot springs and narrow canyons you can admire and conquer.

As the Black Canyon is one of the best places in the US for paddle boarding, you can take your board with you and see the landscape from the water. We’d especially recommend taking this trip in the fall or spring, when the springs are particularly active, making for a unique experience.

Of course, there is also the Hoover Dam to check out, so if you’re a fan of marvelous engineering, this day trip should certainly make it onto your list.
