Charlton House is a Jacobean Manor House built between 1607 and 1612. The house was home to Sir Adam Newton, tutor to Henry Prince of Wales and son of King James I.

Boasting lots of original Jacobean features such as fireplaces, strapwork ceilings and a grand staircase.

The house is open for exploration with free admission. However, as we hire out our spaces we advise calling ahead to ensure rooms are available to see. The walled Gardens, 400 year old Mulberry Tree, Tea Room and Study are always available to view, with the Tea Room serving Afternoon Tea (bookings must be at least 24 hours in advance) and a daily menu 9am-4pm Monday- Friday.

Every Friday at 1pm we host a free classical concert in the beautiful Old Library.
