The Ukrainian Diaspora Museum was founded in 1999. It is a branch of the Museum of History of Kyiv. The exposition tells about the history of Ukrainian emigration and famous Ukrainian emigrants, who glorified Ukraine far beyond its borders.

In the museum you can get acquainted with the life and work of prominent figures of culture, science and art of Ukrainian origin, to see unique photographs and documents telling about the complex life trials of former compatriots and their path to success. Among the unique exhibits is a collection of works of art and personal belongings of the Krichevsky family, whose fate was scattered around different parts of the world (USA, France, Venezuela).

In particular, the museum exhibits graphic works and paintings by Vasily Grigorovich, Nikolai Vasilyevich and Kateryna Vasilyevna Krichevsky. The museum presents works by Alexei Bulavitsky (USA), Ludmila Morozova (USA) and sculptor Peter Kapshuchenko (Argentina-USA). A separate memorial hall is dedicated to the star of the world ballet Serge Lifar (France), an outstanding dancer and choreographer from Kyiv.

In addition to the permanent exhibitions, exhibitions and cultural and artistic events are constantly held. During 2017, the project “Our Sikorsky”, devoted to the brilliant American aircraft designer Igor Sikorsky, is open to public.
