A unique exposition representing the most comprehensive collection of original steam machines of the 19th and 20th century of Switzerland. Although all types of steam driven applications are included in this museum placed in a historical workshop, many machines in motion and partially under life steam impress visitors.

Besides ongoing projects of restauration, a thrilling collection of functional steam models and exotic exhibits as an Ariane rocket stage with steam driver highlights the development of the steam technology, which has conserved its significance until today.

A visit of the Steam Museum Winterthur will give you a deep insight into the history of the industrialization of Switzerland and their most important pioneers.
