Take a break from the gloomy weather and escape to Ancient Rome or Egypt and magnificent art experiences, delicious lunches and a cup of freshly-made coffee in the shade of the palm trees.

At the Glyptotek you can explore outstanding special exhibitions and experience one of the world’s finest collections of ancient sculpture and French Impressionism as well as Egyptian mummies and tomb treasures.

The museum architecture is truly peerless – designed by three of the best Danish architects: Vilhelm Dahlerup, Hack Kampmann and Henning Larsen.

Art and ale

The Glyptotek is founded by the brewing magnate Carl Jacobsen, who was a passionate art collector. The museum opened in 1897 and is now home to over 10.000 works.
Throughout the year visitors can enjoy special exhibitions, events, concerts and guided tours. Book a table in the exquisite Café Glyptotek at [email protected], and read more at glyptoteket.com
